International Women’s Day 2015!

Each year International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated on the 8th March. All around the world, IWD represents an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women while calling for greater equality.

Why we need International Women’s Day?

IWD represents an opportunity for men and women to come awake to the suffering of women in the world and recognise that gender inequality exists.

  • Globally about one in three women will be beaten or raped during their lifetime.
  • Approximately, 21 million victims of human trafficking are female.
  • Over 130 million women in the world today have undergone female genital mutilation.
  • Around 14 million girls, some as young as 8 years old were married in 2014.

This year we are calling on all our members and supporters to take some time out on IWD to actively pray for women and girls who are suffering. You can also follow our IWD ‘Make It Happen’ Campaign on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

‘This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us’. 1 John 5: 14makeithappen

Wishing you a happy and blessed International Women’s Day!
