About World YWCA
YWCA Ireland is part of the World YWCA, the largest women’s membership organisation in the world. For over 150 years, the World YWCA movement has advanced the status of women and girls worldwide, promoting young women’s active leadership on issues affecting their lives, and bringing the voices of women from grassroots communities into global debates.

Our participation in the World YWCA offers us opportunities for training and connections beyond our local activities. We send a delegation every four years to the World YWCA Council, the quadrennial legislative meeting of the World YWCA. This brings together over 600 representatives from over 108 member associations affiliated to the global YWCA movement.

There are currently 15 staff members representing 13 different nationalities based at the World YWCA headquarters in Geneva and supporting YWCA work around the world. There are regular internship opportunities at the World YWCA office. We post details of such opportunities on social media.
